What is Massage?
In this section you will learn what Massage is.
What is Massage?
Massage therapy is used to help manage a health condition or enhance wellness. It involves manipulating the soft tissues of the body. Massage has been practiced in most cultures, both Eastern and Western, throughout human history, and was one of the earliest tools that people used to try to relieve pain.
When is it used?
Massage therapy is often used in conjunction with chiropractic care to promote spine and nervous system health. Massage can help relieve vertebral subluxations or misaligned joints in the spine. These adjustments serve to properly realign joints and remove any tension or pain in the limbs or spine. Remedial massage is a deep, probing type of soft tissue work used to correct muscular, or other types of soft tissue imbalances. The palms and fingers are used to palpate the soft tissues to locate and treat these imbalances.
